Mt. Shred Ore-geee-on!!!

I am a terrible person because I've been neglecting my poor blog for months! I can't beleive it's already September!!!! But, such is life, gotta chase that dollar, and time does pass!! We are that much closer the white fluffy season! I've been working like mad all summer at my Environmental Planning Job in LoDo, passing the time by playing co-ed kickball and softball. I did get one amazing summer vacation when I went to MT. Hood for Travelling Circus week. I got to catch up with some old friends, and make some new friends. If you've ever been summer skiing, you know it's an experience all it's own. Amazing, beautiful, and (I'll say this alot) the time of my life! Oh, and did I mention I got to meet (and ski with) LINE godfather Jason Levinthal, and super pro- Eric Pollard!! WOW!

I'll let the photos do the rest of the talking.

Echodemic Volume 2!

Echo just dropped their trailer for the movie they shot all last season. I shot with them some and I am going to be appearing in the movie this year in the "girls" segment. I actually made the trailer, and have one night shot on a wall ride. I have some other good shots for the full length, so make sure and check out the final movie out at the end of the summer.

Enjoy-

Traveling Circus Mania!!!

If you don't know yet about the Traveling Circus, well, you better find out. These guys, Andy and Will, fellow LINE riders, chronicalled their season last year in webisodes. I got to enjoy Whistler alongside these guys and the other LINE riders in the Masters. Their Whistler episode (#8) is my favorite because I'm in it ;) Haha JK, but it is a great video album of my trip to Whistler for the Masters. I'm only in there briefly, but, COUNT IT!

The basic story line of TC is this; ski a bunch, get into shenanigans, and act silly....Pretty Good... Check out the LINE website, for their latest webisode, #9, and the previous 8 webisodes, if you've got some time to kill and want to watch some skiing.

Find out more about Andy Parry, Will Wesson, and the Traveling Circus at http://www.lineskis.com/home

On top of all that greatness, TC is having their very own session at Windells this summer. The guys will be there, I am also going, and a bunch of friends will be up at the glacier shredding. Can't wait for this trip, as it will be my first summer skiing on real snow! on a real glacier!! WHOA! You can find out more about the TC session on the LINE skis website.

EDAW Denver

It's been a while since my last blog update, and this one should help you to know a little bit about what I do in the off season. I work at a Environmental Consulting Firm in LoDo (Lower Downtown) Denver, as an Environmental Analyst. I was chosen to attend a career building retreat in May, along with 9 co-workers, most of whom are Architechts. The organizers of the event asked us to create an office presentation, the only rule was that it couldn't be a Power Point. We decided to create a cute little video that show's what we like to do at EDAW Denver.....
I'll let the video do the rest of the talking. Enjoy!

Swinging From Trees!

A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to be a part of a retreat through my company, EDAW. The retreat was designed as a career development workshop for young people in EDAW that display high potential. It was also a like a little vacation/reward weekend! I got to participate in a high ropes course in Estes Park, Colorado. It was so fun, I can't wait to do one again.

Kobe STOP Crying!

There's a vigilante fan on the loose in Denver!

Copyright KUSA*TV, All Rights Reserved

This lovely street art has shown up just since last night's game where the Nuggets miraculously overcame the Lakers 106-103 in the 4th quarter! It was amazing basketball, and the Nuggets really showed what they were made of. The Lakers aren't going to have an easy time in this year's Western Confernce Finals.... Check out game 3 this Saturday in Denver!!!

On Cinco de Mayo I went to the Nuggets playoff game (2), and wow, they pwned the Dallas Mavericks! There was some amazing plays going down, and the Nuggets are looking primed to win it all!

Hometown Hero! Ch-ch-ch-Chauncy!!!!!(Photo by Doug Pensinger/Getty Images)

Chauncy is a new addition to the Nuggets this year, and he's uniting the team as a on court leader! So glad to have him back in CO. He grew up in Denver and attended my alma mater, CU Boulder! CU was actually good at B-Ball when Chauncy was on the team.

Clearly enjoying myself

The Mad Scientist Lab

During my trip to Seattle, Josh took the crew to the super top secret lab where they develop the magic, yes magic, that's inside a LINE ski...It's so secret, I can't even tell you where we were.

Let's get some shoes! Ski shoes!

There were lots of fun things to play on...

Here's LJ doing a flare on skates, yea, he's good at everything!

LINE engineer showing the skis he destroyed with some big machinery

Super double top-secret science experiments to fine tune the "magic" on the inside of the skis

So, I actually can't show/tell you any of the other stuff we did while at the lab... In fact I've already told you too much.... Watch your back.

The Pac NW!

My recent trip to Whistler is the first time I've been to the Pac NW in years! We left Whistler on 4/20 and hightailed it back through Squamish, down the Sea to Sky Highway and back to Seattle. I was not psyched to get up early the morning after the Masters' After Party, but I was jazzed to see the beautiful ocean and mountains. It was quite a change of scenery from good old dry Colorado.

Squamish, BC

Ferns, we definitely don't have these in Colorado

"I'm on a boat!" No, this is actually just a peir

Spring in Seattle

After the drive back from Whistler, I got to spend some time in Seattle! This was my first trip to Seattle ever, and I was so surprised to see all the trees and plants flowering! Spring has sprung in Seattle, which was a lovely change from Colorado, where Winter is still on.

Ah, Flowers, gorgeous...

Josh (aka Mosh Jalczyk) the LINE TM lives in Seattle, moved from Burlington, VT. Pretty big change, but it seems like he's loving it!

This is Josh giving us a geography lesson on Seattle, WA

We got to do one of my favorite things in the world, shopping! The Pike Place Market is the infamous place where dudes are schralping fresh fish all day. We didn't buy much beyond snacks and food, but they had lots of cool merchandise and crazy people! I also got to see the first Starbucks EVER!!! Love me some Bucky's....

Pike Place had a pretty sweet view of Mt. Rainer, if you look really close...

The pacific NW is home to many totem poles, I saw many on my travels, but this one was so large, it wouldn't fit in the pic.

I got to travel with the Traveling Circus, pretty good... pretty good.

Ian, Andy, LJ, me, and Will. Thanks for posing for this pic guys, no really....Andy is the only one but me smiling (kinda).

The Masters!!!!

The Masters is dubbed the "Anti-Comp" because instead of being all about the tricks and charging the course, it's more about the team and acting out your theme. The format is different than a normal comp as well. The team riders are also the judges; two teams face off in a head to head jam, after which each of the other teams provides a score to those who just skied. This year, they also brought in a crew of pro-judges to help out the fairness factor.

Max, LJ, me, Joe, and TM Josh- Team Muscle Beach

The LINE team's theme was "Muscle Beach" and we faced off against team Armada aka "the Trailer Park Boys" in the first round.

The course was set up so sick: the first set of features consisted of a smooth poppy jump, and rail features on each side, the second set of features consisted of a step-down jump, and two cannon/kicker boxes on either side, the third feature was just a huge poppy super kicker, and at the bottom of the course, you could choose between an urban style down rail, a flat box, or a flat down rail, followed by a trash can jib, a box wall ride, and a HUGE wooden pole jib.

We tried to stay pretty close to each other during our runs, and our best run went something like this....

First Set of Features: Max led us off by disastering the flat down rail feature, LJ and Joe dropped next, hitting the jump and doing synchro 360s, and I brought up the rear, throwing down a 3 off the top jump.

Second Set of Features: Max did a sick transfer to 360 tip bonk on the cannon box, Joe and LJ threw down their amazing synchonized 630s off of the cannon/kicker boxes, and I did a sweet Straigt AIR! HAHA!

Joe killing it on the Cannon Box. www.juliewphoto.com

Third Jump: Joe and LJ threw down side by side tindy 9s, and I threw a floaty 3.

LJ and Joe throwing down their synchro hits off the bottom jump. www.juliewphoto.com

Bottom: The guys and I all chose one of the rail features, next Joe and LJ did tandem back flips off of the box wall ride feature, and I stalled out on that same feature. Since Josh was part of our team, as the TM, he was waiting at the bottom of the course and joined us all in a round of nose butter to push-ups in unison, cause, of course we are buff and love doing push-ups.

You guys have hot bodies... Andy, nice camera.

Unfortunately LINE was eliminated in the first round, but we THREW DOWN and I personally had the time of my life, most fun comp EVER!!!!!! As revenge, LJ and Max went after K2 TM Mike Powell, aka, the Hot Dog.

LJ facing off against the Hot Dog! Get 'em!

Team K2, killed it with "Hot Dog" the movie theme. They are re-enacting a scene here.... Sean, Sean, Tatsuyu, and Anna

Please check out the Masters homepage http://www.oragemasters.com/results for photos from the comp by Felix, Highlights: photo 01 shows the LINE team posted up in our tower, Photo 07 shows Joe as 1/2 of the nasty simultaneous misty 630s off of the tandem cannon/kicker boxes, and Photo 11 is yours truely greasing the urban style down rail.
